Interior decoration is the science and art of improving the interior of an establishment to make it a more aesthetically pleasant and healthier environment for those using the room. An interior decorator is a person who designs, plans, oversees, and coordinates such interior decoration projects. The term “interior” can be used in relation to a structure or a whole building as a whole. The interior decorator’s job may require him/her to visit establishments in order to find out the current style and if needed, design a similar looking interior for the new establishment. It is not uncommon for interior decorators to be invited to hotels, restaurants, hotels, malls, etc.
There are many styles and types of decoration. Contemporary interior decoration, Thai, Japanese, Moroccan, Chinese, Portuguese, etc. are just a few of the most famous ones. Modern interior designs, Oriental, New Age, Post-modern, Georgian, Gothic, etc. are a few others that have gained popularity over the years.
The main aim of interior decoration is to improve the function and beauty of the establishments. This however does not mean that an interior decoration project should be done at the cost of the clients. Good planning and implementation of ideas can be very useful in increasing the revenue without compromising on the quality of the design styles. In fact, good planning can be done in such a way that both the designing firm and the client benefit to a large extent.
